Burma Link, July 30, 2013
On July 27, combined government forces totaling nearly 100 soldiers clashed with TNLA 112 force near Kanparpho village in Kutkhai Township, according to the PSLF/TNLA News and Information Department.
Ta Wain Man, the commander of TNLA 112 force, reported that clashes occurred as a result of offensive attacks against TNLA by over 50 soldiers from Kunlon based IB 145 and over 40 militia men from Pansay militia group. At the time of the offensive, TNLA 112 troops were organising the people for an opium eradication project for the year 2013-2014. Casualties were not known on either side.
These renewed clashes took place only two days after TNLA 112 force and Pansay peoples’ militia had clashed also in Kutkai Township.
PSLF and the government are scheduled to hold peace talks tomorrow, the first of its kind since November 2012.
TNLA = Ta’ang National Liberation Army
PSLF = Palaung State Liberation Front
Ta’aung and Palaung are two different names for the same ethnic group. TNLA is the armed wing of PSLF.
Again the quasi-civilian Burmese Government’s Army attacked the TNLA, just 4 days before the planned so-called “Peace-talks” in Muse on July 31.
As always when the Burmese “Union Peace Building Work Committee” should meet with the ethnic resistance armies, Tatmadaw increase their offensive operations for to make more of pressure on the ethnic resistance! For to force the ethnic political leaders to sign these “Ceasefire Agreements”.
The strategy is first shoot on the ethnic nationalities then the smiling Railway Minister Aung Min sign the agreements.
Tatmadaw has so far violente the ceasefire agreemets with the both Shan Armies about 80 times!
The problem is that the international community seems to swallowing everything the Burmese regime do and say. In return, the international business community to continue it’s massive investment to make high profits.
Then it does not matter that the regime in Naypyitaw continues to commit Crimes against Humanity and ethnic cleansing operations! Because “Money smells not”!
