Two Burmese military fighter jets again dropped 4 bombs on KIA’s 27th Battalion’s Bum Chyaw Bum, and a location between Marit Hkyet and Nam Gat Hkaraw in Mansi Township on Dec 19 at 4:20 pm. ­­­­KIA frontline sources said the two fighter jets continue firing several rounds of machine guns after dropping 4 bombs.

On the same day, a military helicopter from Myitkyina had been seen hovering over KIA’s 12th Battalion’s Gawng Run and Mung Leng area at around noon.

Meanwhile, battles continue to rage between the two sides and several artillery firing by Burmese army troops have been reported in Mansi Township in southern Kachin State.

Burmese army troops currently based at La Aik Bum fired several artillery rounds on Kawng Ja and Kai Htik-based troops fired on Chyam Ka, Bum Chyaw Bum, and Nlung Kai Lang on Dec 19 beginning 7:30 am.

Similarly, Burmese army troops based at Mandat, Sau Ram, and Balawng Dingsa fired several 81 mm, 105 mm and 120 mm mortar rounds on Loi Jau Bum, Makawk, Maji Gung Kaba, and Bum Chyaw Bum on the same day beginning 8 am.

At around 4:30 pm, KIA’s 12th Battalion troops reportedly launched a brief attack on Burmese army’s 44thLight Infantry Battalion’s Je U base.
