The UNFC Delegation for Political Negotiation led by Khu Oo Reh met with the government representatives led by Dr. Tin Myo Win, the 21st Century Panglong (the Union Peace Conference) Preparation Committee, on July 1, 2016 at the National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC) in Rangoon.
The meeting focused on the need to clarify the practical processes of the all-inclusive peace process now being led by the NLD government. The UNFC has asked for the clarification for government’s approach to the all-inclusive peace process with regard to the 21st Century Panglong Conference (the Union Peace Conference) as well as the NCA.
For further discussion with the State Counsellor who is presiding over the UPDJC, the representatives at the meeting today discussed preparation for the upcoming meeting between the UNFC leadership led by the Chairman and the State Counsellor. The meeting is tentatively agreed to be held in mid-July, 2016 in Rangoon.
Both sides also principally agreed to hold further meetings to be able to materialize the all- inclusive peace process.
