Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) | August 4, 2018

The first 2018 Biannual Meeting of the Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA) has been held during 1-4 August 2018 at Loi Tai Leng Headquarters and was participated by advisors. leaders, officers, military commanders from 811 101 81181 00 control and responsible personnel. At the meeting, the participants discussed various topics concerning overall situation and issued the following 5-point statement.

1. During the 4-day meeting, matters concerning politics, unity, peace, military, administration and economy, and other issues that have taken place during the previous six months period (January-June 2018) were analyzed and discussed by all the meeting participants, and together they laid down plans for the future.

2. Evaluation of the progression and regression of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), which has been signed into force for nearly 3 years, was conducted. The decisions to use peacethl means through negotiations to solve all problems faced in the peace process and to strive to establish a federal union through political dialogues wore unanimcusly made.

3. In order to achieve peace, efforts will be made in cooperation with all the ethnic armed organizations.

4. We are very appreciative of the letter written to us by the members of the Sangha and the people, at home and abroad, expressing their concern about our national unity. To prevent division and discord among our Tai pecple, the RCSS/SSA will willingly do in accordance with the desire of the Sangha and the people.

5. In order to work for the overall development of the people and to implement the drug eradication policy, efforts will be made to thc best of our ability.
